Now the national drink of Brazil the Caipirinha, meaning ‘country peasant’ was once drunk by those working in the sugar cane fields.
This is one of those drinks I don’t make very often, but when I do after the first taste you always wonder why the hell not !
2 shots of Cachaca
1 lime – cut into cubes
3 teaspoons of caster sugar
Muddle all of the ingredients together in a shaker. Add cubed ice and shake hard until the ice is all broken. Pour into a glass and top up with more ice.
Why not stick a bottle of Cachaca on your Christmas list this year. Hopefully if you are not on Santa’s naughty list he will be generous and you can treat yourself to something different.
